Reach - Local Authority Engagement Support

In its third year, Reach has become a programme for supporting professional and organisational development. We help arts officers in London boroughs to introduce, navigate and survive the financial and strutural changes that the sector is experiencing.

Background:

Reach originated as an initiative to support local authorities in their cultural engagement activities. 14 London Borough arts teams emerged from Reach 2009 citing the real, practical benefits they took from the programme - 93%  said it was highly useful and relevant to their work. Based on this fantastic feedback, ACE London commissioned Reach 2010 and Reach 2011.

How it works:

In 2011 we are working with the London boroughs of Bromley, Camden, Haringey, Hounslow, Lewisham, Redbridge, Richmond and Sutton. We host a series of workshops in cultural venues. These provide vital professional networking opportunities as well as sharing insights, guidance and success stories to help local authorities manage their resources and make sense of changes.

Reach is delivered for Arts Council England, London by Audiences London and people make it work as one part of their commitment to local authorities and their critical role in engaging audiences.
